About the directory
When a school board, a hospital or an HR team needs a security consultant, the search is often harder than it should be. General search results mix in alarm companies, guard services and product sellers. Good independent consultants can be hard to tell apart. And it is rarely clear who works in your state.
Find a Security Consultant was built to fix that. It is a directory for one thing only: independent security consultants. People who give advice, assess risk, train staff, testify and plan. Not people trying to sell you equipment.
You can search by specialty and by state at the same time. You can describe a project once and let matching consultants reply to you. If you are not sure what kind of help you need, our situation helper suggests a specialty and the listed consultants who fit best.
Profiles go deeper than contact details. Consultants can share case studies, speaking topics, books, media appearances, expert witness experience and a short intro video. That gives you a real sense of who they are before you reach out.
We keep this simple and open. Search results are shown in this order:
Inside each group, profiles are sorted by how complete they are. A consultant who has filled in their credentials, case studies and service areas will appear above one who has not. Paying for a plan changes your group. It does not buy a Verified badge.
Consultants who want the Verified badge send us their credential numbers and a professional reference. The site admin reviews them by hand. When a profile is approved, it shows the date it was verified. You can read more on the verification page.
Verified is a check on credentials and references. It is not an endorsement, and it does not replace your own due diligence. Always ask for references and proof of insurance before you hire.
Consultant email addresses are never shown publicly. Every message goes through a contact form. That keeps spam away from consultants and keeps your inquiry between you and the person you chose to contact.
Find a Security Consultant is built and run by Imtiaz Ahmed, founder of Design Fly 24, a New York web design and SEO agency that works with consultants and security experts.
Working with security professionals on their own websites showed us the same problem from both sides. Buyers could not find the right people. Good consultants were hard to find online. This directory is our answer to both.
Every listing includes a link to Design Fly 24 for consultants who want help with their own website. The offer is simple: we design your new homepage first, completely free. If you love it, we build the rest. If not, you owe nothing.
