Request proposals

Describe your project once. Let the right consultants reply.

Finding a security consultant usually means a lot of searching, calling and repeating yourself. Request Proposals does that work for you. Tell us what you need, and consultants who match your specialty and state will be notified. Those who are a good fit reply to you directly.

How it works

It is free for buyers, and you are never obligated to hire anyone.

1. Tell us about your project

Choose a specialty and state, then describe what you need in your own words. Add your timeline and any details that matter, like the number of buildings, a court date or a board meeting.

2. We notify matching consultants

Listed consultants who cover that specialty and state get a notice with your project details. Your contact information is shared only with consultants so they can reply to you.

3. Compare the replies

Consultants respond to you directly. Look at their profiles, ask questions and choose who to talk to further. If none of them fit, you can simply move on.

Tips for a good request

  • Say what triggered the project. A new building, a recent incident, an insurance requirement or a lawsuit all point to different kinds of help.
  • Give a sense of scale. How many sites, students, employees or beds? A rough number is fine.
  • Share your timeline. If you have a hard deadline, say so.
  • Mention what you want at the end. A written report, a training session, a plan, testimony or ongoing support.
  • Leave out sensitive details. Do not include names of people involved in an incident, floor plans or security codes. You can share those later with the consultant you choose.

Why request proposals instead of searching alone

Searching works well when you already know the kind of expert you need. When you are less sure, it is often faster to request proposals and let the consultants come to you. You describe the problem once, in your own words, and only consultants whose specialty and service area match will see it.

Each consultant who replies explains how they would approach your project, what they would deliver and roughly what it would cost. That gives you real options to compare instead of a list of names to call.

What to include when you request proposals

  • The trigger. What happened, or what is coming up, that made you look for help now.
  • The setting. A school, office, hospital, warehouse, home or several sites, and roughly how large.
  • The goal. A written assessment, an emergency plan, staff training, expert testimony or ongoing advice.
  • Timing and budget. Even a rough range helps consultants send realistic proposals.
  • Anything sensitive. Leave out names and confidential details. You can share those later, privately, with the consultant you choose.

Questions about requesting proposals

Is it free to request proposals?

Yes. It costs nothing to request proposals, and there is no obligation to hire anyone who replies.

Who will see my request?

Only consultants listed for the specialty and state you choose. Your email address is not published, and consultants reply to you directly.

How many replies should I expect?

It depends on your specialty and location. Some requests receive several proposals within a few days, others fewer. If only a few consultants match, consider allowing remote work or a neighboring state, since many consultants travel for the right project.

Can I request proposals for a school or public agency?

Yes. Many school districts and public bodies must follow purchasing rules, so mention them in your request. Federal resources such as CISA school safety guidance can also help you frame the scope before you request proposals.

For schools, companies and legal teams

Tell us what you need. The right experts reply.

Post one request and only consultants who match your specialty and state are notified. It is free and there is no obligation.
